Your Hosts, the Ruschp Family
Peter and Carolyn Ruschp purchased the Stowe Motel in 1977 and acquired the adjacent Snowdrift Motel in 1995. Historically, the Ruschp family has been instrumental in making Stowe the Ski Capital of the East. Sepp Ruschp, Peter's father, founded the Ski School in 1936 and was the first president of the Mount Mansfield Company. Peter was a former US Ski Team member, Ski School Director and Director of Skiing at Stowe Mountain Resort. Peter passed away in August 2005 but Carolyn is still running the Motels with the help of her two children, Andrew and Allison. Allison is currently a student at Skidmore College studying Environmental Geology and Andrew has returned to college to earn another degree. Andrew is currently a freshman at Vermont Technical College studying Civil and Environmental Engineering to add to his BS in Business from University of Denver.
